Shiatsu:
SHIATSU, literally meaning finger pressure, was developed in Japan and is based on traditional Chinese medicine. The holistic full shiatsu body treatment combines the use of acupressure points and massage. Shiatsu shares the same philosophy and aims as acupuncture and is the massage part of this oriental treatment.
Shiatsu influences and balances the chi (energy which flows through your body). The shiatsu therapist works up and down the meridians feeling for excesses and deficiencies of energy.
The shiatsu treatment is normally performed on a futon on the floor. During your first shiatsu appointment an assessment will be made in order to tailor the treatment to your needs.

What should I wear for shiatsu?
Shiatsu works through clothes. Our shiatsu practitioner suggests you wear comfortable and loose clothing, preferably trousers and something to keep you warm.

What can be treated with shiatsu?
A shiatsu treatment can induce a deep state of relaxation and will certainly energise you. Shiatsu can be used to treat specific problems such as back pain, insomnia, migraine, stiffness, sports injuries, digestive problems, menstrual problems, and depression.
